COMPANY HISTORY
DanzJazz Entertainment Company/Dance Studio has served Guam’s community for 21 years. It was established in June 1999 to provide our islands’ youth with a platform for dance and performance. Our company has provided formal dance training to a diverse number of students. DanzJazz has become a second home for dance students, bringing together different cultures and groups. Through our after-school dance program, students can become well-versed in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, Latin and tap dance. DanzJazz helps students embody dance in their livelihood and develop a solid foundation in their personal growth. Our dancers have dedicated their time and effort in DanzJazz’s After-school Intensive Dance Program. It teaches students to manage their time wisely, balancing their hours in the studio together with their academics and interscholastic sports activities.
Many of our DanzJazz alumni has grown into successful adults in every imaginable fields, such as world-class professional dancers, choreographers, nurses, teachers, and bankers who contribute and serve our local community. Some of our passionate dancers have reached stardom in the professional dance world as well as making their mark in national television and commercial dance fields: Marko Germar (SYTYCD Fox TV Dance Show “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 8 Top Male Winner), George Sugiyama (San Francisco Ballet Company Dancer), and Justin David (America’s Best Dance Crew winner and Jabbawockeez Company Dancer in Las Vegas, Nevada). DanzJazz, Entertainment Company / Dance Studio is also in partnership with the Guam Allied Dance Force, a local non-profit dance organization, committed to outreach programs benefiting our local charities such as Guam Salvation Army and Guam Special Olympics. |
